Street Party in the Northern City

Who would have thought a faraway City would have a street party as fun as the photos posted below.

Okay, first and foremost I love going to parties because this is a great time to catch up with families, relatives and friends and of course get to know new people but mind you, I ‘m not a partyholic. Well, maybe there was a time in my life that I was, but I believe going to bars on weekends and getting drunk is out of my system anymore, though I still hangout with friends and not considering myself as antisocial.




Okay were getting off the topic here. Last few weeks, there was a street party at hubby’s small City because it is the start of the preparation for the cities fiesta. The fiesta falls every 3rd Sunday of September and this year the fiesta falls on September 16, 2012.

Annually the city of Danao in the northern part of Cebu has this tradition called “Sinugdan” where in there is a parade of the hat of the patron saint of the CIty “Santo Tomas de Villanueva” (St. Thomas of Villanueva). The parade is called “The torch parade”.

Before, people attending the parade brings torches with them but today look at what they have.

Vehicles that contain huge drums and even a whole band, truck turned disco mobile and truck turned into a disco pub.

As what I have seen, everybody is enjoying dancing in the street.

Guilty as Charge

First of all I would like to ask my apologies for being away for a very long time, it's been a year since my last post about mama's birthday celebration in the beach. I am really guilty as of writing this post and I promise not to resist whatsoever if you want me in jail for not updating my blog.

What I did and happened for the past year?

1. Had 3 long land trips. One international but not the one you are thinking right now. Together with babe and friends went to Thailand and Cambodia for 10 days. Two Philippine land trips; The Manila to Cebu land trip and the 8 day Northern Luzon land trip.

2. Organized a book club, the Cebu Book Club together with fellow Cebu Blogger member and friend Nancy Cudis. The book club is a small community of book enthusiast of Cebu. We had our very first activity last August 30, 2013 at Cebu City Public Library entitled Books, Biscuits and Coffee Party.

3. Write in a Visayas based lifestyle magazine my article that was published was about The Peacock Garden of Bohol. It's one of the finest resort not just in Bohol but in the country.

4. Work has been really exciting because a colleague has just resign giving my hands full with work as well as giving me more room of improvements.

5. Started a little Koi pond hobby/business with babe and 2 other friends.

6. The kiddos I mean babes nephew together with the entire family migrated to Abu Dhabi and now they are back but not for sure if it's for good but I'm really happy that they are around.

7. Babe and I missed 5 flights in a row, the most recent was last September 7, 2013 where for the first time we did not push through the travel.

8. Been an avid fan of movies most especially Akira Kurusawa and Christopher Nolan movies. 

9. I have been reading a lot all sort of books but now I am in to classic and I'm almost done with Bram Stoker's Dracula then will read Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. I also realized that a lifetime is not enough to consume all the books you wanted to read.

10. Most cousins are going outside the country. I am happy for them but a bit sad because I know it would take time for all of us to be together again (you know how close we all are).

11. Won social media influencer during the Social Media Influencer Summit last February 2013.

I think that all covers everything, I will just update if I missed something out. I love the new Blogger app and for sure my next post will not be long. Ciao for now 😊

Double Birthday Celebration

August is a very special day for me and my sister because it's our mama's birthday and this year I have asked a niece to join my mom's birthday and her mom's (actually my 1st degree cousin) birthday celebration to be celebrated together, so as you know both our families are close.

We decided to go on a beach birthday outing. It is not a very big event but we assure of a memorable one. Since I am busy my cousin scout for the place and she decided that we go to Anda de Boracay and then East Coast.

Anda de Boracay is not the place we expect it to be. It is like a residential lot turned beach resort so the place is small and the beach they use is the public beach. The place is structurally nice and the infinity pool looks great. There room ranges from 1500-4000 pesos. They have a restau-bar and a small activity area. Our birthday celebrants did not like the place that much so we opted to go directly to East Coast White Sand Resort hoping that the place will be okay.

East Coast turned out to be our paradise for that day. Our birthday celebrants enjoyed the pool as much as we did. They have a clean shore and the beach is perfect. My mom is not a fan of the beach but in East Coast she is like a mermaid.

We enjoyed the delicious food in the beach, we ordered buttered fried praws, tinulang manok, calamares (all time favorite) and grilled fish. We brought 2 birthday cakes for our celebrants.

At the end of the day everyone had so much fun. let me thank my babe for bringing along his friends that makes the outing a lot more fun, we hope to have you next time.

Of course can we left mama Nit at home? of course not, mama Nit is also around. Papa Jun was not able to come because of joint pain and aunty Ner cannot leave the tindahan (negosyante much).

Camotes Boat Schedules

 I have already told you how we love Camotes, and guess what! here are the daily boat schedules to Camotes from Danao City and Cebu City and vice versa. Camotes is really a paradise but I suggest that you visit the island not during summer so that you can feel the serenity of the place.

How to get to Camotes Island:

• From Cebu, you could easily travel to Camotes Island since there are daily trips from Danao City Port (motorized banca and RORO boats), from Mandaue City Ouano Warf (motorized banca) and from Pier 1 (ferry boat/fast craft).
• There also flights to Camotes but its chartered and mostly for private tours only.

The Preamble

I have downloaded a new app about the Philippine Constitution. I love reading the Philippine Constitution because for me it is better that as a Filipino we should know our rights and our duties in our country.

Let us not be a foreign to our homeland, so let me share to you the Philippine Constitution in image form every now and then.

Let me start with the Preamble. The preamble reminds us all Filipinos our duty and the goals we must do for our country.

My Good Dog Laplace

Animals have soft spot in my heart and for me they are like humans, with life and soul. My love of animals strengthen when I met my babe, because he also is an animal lover.

We have 3 dogs, more than a dozen of Koi fish and more little aquarium fishes. Our three dogs are Laplace (doberman/labrador breed), Cronus (gratedane breed) and Light (shih tzu/maltesse breed).

This post is all about Laplace.

Laplace is our 2 year old dog. We bought him not in a pet shop but in a bangketa in Colon, Cebu City. Babe and I were walking along Colon when I saw a cute puppy carried by a woman. The puppy seems looking at me and he seems asking me to buy him. I told babe to buy the puppy and yes he agrees and we bring the puppy home, then we called him Laplace.

Laplace is a very intillegent dog. He can do tricks such as stay, sit, come here and he is a great mouse catcher. If we go out the house at night we always bring Laplace with us, he is our guard, even though he does not walk in our side.

The reason why I created this post is because of the incident that happened a while ago July 10, 2012 - 11pm. Babe and I went to ate Mimi's place like 500m away from the house, since its late we bring Laplace with us. We reached ate's house and get inside, we did not bother call Laplace because he is with other dogs and thinking he will just waite for us.

Around 5 minutes we decided to go home and as we went outside there's no sign of Laplace. I am a bit worried because last year Laplace was taken away by a stranger and was sold for only 500 pesos but gladly we retrieve him with the help of a "sikad" tricyle driver. Babe told me not to be worried because Laplace is a bright dog and for sure he knows how to go home.

So we rode a tricyle towards home. As we reach near the gate babe told me if I have noticed a wagging tail infront the gate and I am very happy because I saw Laplace sitting and waiting for us. I hurriedly take off from the tricycle and went near Laplace where babe is rabbing him and I belly rab my Laplace.

Indeed I have one of the most wonderful dog in the planet. :)

Camotes: Mangodlong Paradise Beach Resort

I have shared with you that last summer babe and I went to Camotes and this month we went to Camotes twice and stayed at a new resort, Mangodlong Paradise Beach Resort. We visited Camotes June 23 and 24 and then went back June 30 and 31 with two of our closest friends Matt and Norman.

Mangodlong Paradise Beach Resort is just beside Mangodlong Rock Resort and I can say that I love Paradise resort more than the Rock resort. The place is more safe because only few people visit for a day tour and the service is very good. If you ask for something then they give it to you at a reasonable time.

About Mangodlong Paradise Beach Resort

The resort has around 28 rooms, the room rate ranges from 2500 to 6000 pesos. It has 3 beach front rooms, 1 honeymoon suite room and 2 Cabana rooms. It has a big swimming pool much bigger than that of Mangodlong Rock Resort. It's restaurant called the Bamboo Caffe is much bigger and a lot cozzier than than the Rock resort. The food is okay with similar price to the rock resort that ranges 180 to 350 per order. They also have a bar near the beach which is open at night but you can eat there during the day. Adding the coziness of the place is there music which starts 7 in the morning and ends 10 in the evening.

During weekend or if the resort has many guest they prepare lights for disco and a bar at the beach. They also set's up table and chairs for dining with lampara (Filipino lamp) as light. Lampara, lights the beach at night as the shore is lined with lighted lampara.

Camotes: Mangodlong Rock Resort

I am not really a beach bum but after setting foot to Camotes island like 2 years ago, I felt inlove with the beach and would want to go back.

Last summer May 2012, babe and I went to Camotes and we stayed at Mangodlong Rock Resort. Going to Camotes is easy because boats are available always in Mandaue City Cebu as well as in Danao City where boats sail every 2 hours. Boat fare is around 200 pesos.

Since its summer most beach are full, good thing we get a room at Mangodlong Rock Resort a family room for babe and me, a room with 3 beds just for the 2 of us. A tip if you want to visit Camotes during summer, make sure to book a resort 3 days before your vacation and buy a boat ticket earlier as well so that you will not have a hard time on the day of your trip.

Last 2009 we stayed at a different resort and heres what I can say of Mangodlong Rock Resort, the resort is nice with white sand, the food is delicious with reasonable rate, the pool is not big and I did not enjoyed it, i love the beach its clean, i love eating in front of the beach and watching the stars at night and laslty the beach is safe because no outsider can get inside the beach after 8:00pm.

I Love Chocolates

The title says it all, I so love chocolates and this is the reason why I don't have that white shining teeth. I even had many decayed teeth but gladly I don't have a false teeth yet and am not planning to have one, if there's another way than false teeth then I would have that for sure.

Back with chocolates, I am not an expert of chocolates like the brands and all the names. I only knew the chocolates I often eat and I'm not choosy as well give me some and I will surely eat.. :)

It is rare to see my tupperware without chocolates because for me chocolates are my comfort food. Each time I feel bad or happy I ate chocolates.

Some advantages of chocolates are it lessen heart related problems, it's an anti-inflammatory, it's an antioxidant and it's a medicine for depression.

I'm not saying that you eat chocolate a lot because eating more chocolates can destroy your teeth and too much is not good for your health.

My love of chocolates allows me to have it each time there's a celebration at home.

The Success of Visayas Blogging Summit 2011

I am proud to say that I have not just attended one of the biggest blogging summit in the Philippines but I also volunteered to help my fellow CBSi (host of the event) run the activity. I have asked to be assigned at the secretariat committee in which I help at the registration booth, well I am that cuddly lady who greeted you in the registration and handed your VBS2011 kit.

I really did not expect the numbers of participants who have attended, though I have seen the per-registered participants I did not expect that almost everybody would come. Aside from the online registrants there are also many walk in bloggers and non-bloggers who would want to learn writing online and making a name and money out of it.

Funny moments in the registration booth are when people go inline thinking that it was the crocs sale (we are beside crocs sale hall) and everybody is busy because the booth became the all around booth.

Back to the event, everybody learned a lot from key note speaker Chris Ducker and was very happy of the video he presented of other professional foreign bloggers greeting the best for Filipino bloggers and starter bloggers.

Of course we also have our very own bloggers Vernon Go, Jannette Toral and Max Limpag who have shared a lot about blogging.

There are also many visitors during the event and among them are some of the Miss Earth 2011 participants, ABS-CBNs Gina Lopez who shared a very moving message concerning YES TO LIFE NO TO MINING, Cebu City mayor MIke Rama and congressman Mong Palatino who talks about advocacy in blogging.

Great foods are served during lunch and snacks and there are lots of raffle prizes including a domestic flight of your own choice by PAL, mobile phones, globe kits, various GC from sponsors and more.

Truly the event had just shown how the blogosphere is growing and the impact of blogging to the society.

First Christmas Gift

The Christmas breeze is here. I can see many twinkling Christmas lights and various sizes Christmas trees with colorful decors. I can hear my friends sharing thoughts about Christmas gifts and the malls are offering sales for the season. Many are dieting and getting ready for the upcoming parties.

Like any other I am so excited for Christmas though not that excited because papa is not around to celebrate with us physically but I know that he is just around, let's stop this emote moment I am a bit teary already.

Anyways I am happy because I already had a Christmas gift and it is a Casio G-Shock watch from hubby. Me and hubby shares the same passion with watch.

I so love my new watch though this is the second watch babe gave me,the first one is his old Casio watch.

My new watch is black with a round red in front. It can be used as an alarm clock, stopwatch, timer and has 200 bar that allows me to used in even during scuba times.

Thank You Babe for this one my very first Christmas gift for this year.

Semestral Break Food Trip

You are maybe raising your eyebrows because you know I don't have a semestral break for I'm not going to school anymore but the people whom I'm always with when I go home to the province are mostly students.

As part of the routine during school breaks and holidays is food trip and we usually go to this place called Garden Cafe in my hometown.

The usual food we order are pizza, fried prawns, fries, Ice cream and of course a bottle of soda but since the weather is quiet cold we skip ice cream and decided to have it some other time. Aside from the food the fast internet connection is also the reason why we keep on coming to Garden Cafe.

Few Days Before Christmas

2 months more and it's Christmas. It's still October and the days of the souls has not yet passed but we can already hear Christmas jingles in radios. I even have some friends whom their houses has Christmas decorative already. I'm quiet sure that we will be decorating the house too when I get home.

Malls now still have holloween decors but for sure after November 1 and 2 those creepy decorations of webs, bats, witches and monsters will be replaced with red and green balls, Christmas trees, Santa clause and red socks.

As of this date SM City Cebu Mall has already a booth selling Christmas decors and a photo is found below.

Apple - iOS5

Apple has again announced its latest software around 2nd week October and I have updated my iTouch right away but because of a busy schedule it's just today that i posted this review.

iOS5 as what Apple said has great features and apps. I may not named all but I have screen shot some of it.

Here are some innovations that I like the most and been using often:
1. iCloud
2. locked focus on camera
3. grid on camera
4. notifications on all apps
5. drop down list of all notifications
6. edit feature in photos
7. a news stand for news papers and magazine subscription
8. iMessage

There are a lot more but these few innovations are the one I have been recently using. Below are some screen shots of iOS5 innovations.

SM Cebu - Car Show 2011

First and foremost Aside from the fact that I don't own a car I am also not that much fascinated with cars.

It just happened that I went to SM City Cebu with hubby to buy some stuff for our new pet puppy Cronus.

I have not brought with me a cam so I just used my iPod Touch to take some photos. All photos are a little edited, still pardon for I am not an expert of editing photos.
